XMR Import/Export Images (version 166 and below)

Overview

This article explains how to complete a self-paced learning exercise using the XMR Import/Export feature within Phoenix Ortho XMR. 

Goal

After completing this how-to demonstration, the user will have the skills, knowledge and ability to successfully import and export images with in Phoenix Ortho XMR as well as force visit date notes for importing images.

Import of Image for todays scheduled visit

From the Visit Console > select the patient by double-clicking their name to start the visit.

Select the visit type for Today’s Visit

Select the body part

Select Xray from the clinical workflow row

Select Outside Image from Body Part \ Modality picklist

Select Outside Image from the Xray workflow row

Select Save

Select the Utility drop-down arrow > Select Import DICOM

Header columns can be sorted ascending or descending

Click once on the patient's name whose images are being imported

Select Browse > by Folder

Select "This PC" or "Computer"

Select the correct driver where the CD is located > OK

Select Load Dicom Image(s)

Select OK

Images are ready for viewing

 

This process shows how to force a date node into the history tree if the last visit is locked to import the image.

File > New Visit

Create New Visit? > Yes

Select body part and visit type > OK (must select the Visit Type first THEN body part) Prompt is incorrect.

             

Select Visit type Other Visit                                      

   

Select the body part

Select Today's Visit Type > Use current body region > Yes

Select Provider > Select

Success!

Force visit date node when previous visit is locked

This process demonstrates how to force a visit into the history tree when the previous visit is locked

Select File > New visit

Create New Visit? > Yes

Select a body part and visit type > OK (must select visit type first THEN body part)

             

Select visit type Other Visit                                              

                                   

Select body part

Select Today's Visit type > use current body region? > Yes

Select Provider > select

Success! Continue with the XMR import process as shown above

Force visit date node when previous visit unlocked

The imported images will import to the last visit date node, by default. User must select the date node that the images will be imported to.

Search patient > double click patient name to begin 

             

Select the plus sign to the left of the visit date                                   

 

Highlight the visit date 

Make sure correct visit date appears above the anatomical figure

Select X-Ray from the clinical workflow row. Begin process of importing as shown above.

Force visit date node when patient has no previous history

Search patient > double-click patient name to begin

 

Select File > New Visit

Create New Visit? > Yes

Select body part and visit type > OK

   

Select body part        

Select Visit Type of Other Visit

Use current region(s)? > Yes

Select Provider > Select

Success! Begin process of importing image as shown above

Things to remember

Make sure the disc is formatted prior to exporting images.

When exporting an image onto a disc or usb, name them according to your clinic's established HIPAA policy and procedures.

Always select Other Visit when forcing a visit to import images to ensure that a visit is not billed out.
